Here we have a beautiful, black, replacement original, vintage, Herman Miller ‘H’ steel base for the Eames arm and side fiberglass shell chair series. This base displays its original black paint which has a lovely aged finish to it after all these years.

One of the earliest bases, the ‘H’ base was the second generation of the ‘X’ base and, as a result, kept the same name. It was used quite widely on the Eames Side and Arm shells throughout their production.

This H base is in good used condition, although some of the bases are missing the odd foot, have white feet instead or now sport boot glides. This is the lounge version of the base and not the dining height version.

Please note, the base has the original white nylon glides, not black as seen in the images.
