An excellent opportunity to own a rare version of the clever stacking base. This is the flip top Herman Miller Eames base with table made for your side chair. This revolutionary idea meant that the user could easily sit on the chair, flip the writing table down, then raise it to leave when completed.

The stacking base was a common base used by the likes of schools and this style of base was perfect for smaller rooms as it doubled up as the chair and the writing desk; then, if the room was required for something else, the chairs could be stacked away neatly creating the space needed.  

This particular version is finished to fit the 'wide mount' configured Eames side shells which means it can easily replace original wide mount stacking bases.

The table does show signs of age with some surface scratch marks and pitting but it still flips perfectly and is still sturdy.
